Deployments

The Crew Builder allows users with permission to create, edit, allocate crew and submit documentation for Strike Teams, Task Forces or other crew assemblies as required.

The Deployments module is permission controlled, by default only allow view and edit to specific user groups, this may be tailred as required. More information regarding the StationOne Permission Schemes can be found here.

The Crew Builder landing page will present users with currently active Deployments with some basic information about the deployment.

Creating a Deployment

To create a new deployment:

  1. Click the Create New Deployment button in the top right of the screen.

  2. The Deployment Builder form can accept a range of data about the deployment, although we understand in the early stages some of this information may be unknown. As such, some fields are optional.

  3. Enter known information about the deployment as required.

  4. The next step is to allocate appliances. Start by selecting a Strike Team Leader vehicle, by default this will only expose those vehicles that are eligble to be a STL Vehicle in your organisation.

  5. Once you have selected a STL Vehicle, you can progress to appliance selection. Only appliances that are online and marked available for deployment by the brigade will appear in this list. The appliance selection allows for two methods of selection:

    1. If the actual appliance is NOT known: you can select an appliance type without allocating an actual appliance.

    2. If the actual appliance is known: you can select the actual appliance.

  6. Once you are ready, you can create the crew by clicking the Create button.

Edit a Deployment

After creation, you can edit the crew by clicking the crew row or the edit icon to the right of the row.

To update the crew, refer to the steps on creating a crew above.

Add Members to Deployment

You can add members to roles on the crew, by appliance by selecting the member icon in the crew row:

  1. Identify the crew and click the crew builder icon.

  2. On the left side of the Crew Builder you will see a list of available members that includes their vehicle type endorsements and fireground endorsements. This list is only displaying those members who are available and approved.

  3. On the right side of the Crew Builder, you will see a list of appliances and the various positions available on them.

  4. To add a member to a position on an appliance, you can either click the members name followed by the position on the appliance or alternatively click the position on the appliance followed by the members name.

  5. If you attempt to allocate a member to a position that they are not endorsed for, you will receive an error. This may be in the case of a driver allocated to an appliance type they are not endorsed to drive. You may force this allocation if required.

  6. Each appliance is configured with a maximum crew allocation that excludes the Driver and Crew Leader - Once the appliance crew allocation is full, a warning will be displayed notifying you the crew allocation is exhausted.

  7. Once allocation is complete, or members are exhausted you can save the crew by clicking the Update button.
